SBIRT/MGH Joint Partnership

SBIRT = Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment

SBIRT is a mandated screening ordered by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The Mass Opioid Law requires all schools to screen two grade levels regarding substance use. This is not a screening to catch students under the influence but to establish dialog regarding substances like alcohol and drugs that can alter the body and brain development of young adolescents.

Clinton High School has partnered with MGH to conduct SBIRT screenings using a youth wellness coach. This study/program will be available for the next five years. To start off the program, all students will be asked to participate in a school-wide survey given during WINN block on November 29, 2023.

If you wish your student not to participate, please view and sign the attached letters to opt out.
