Medication Administered at School

All medications that can be given at home should be given at home (morning, late afternoon). If a child's physician determines that a medication must be given during school hours, the medication will be administered by the school nurse.

All medications administered at school must:

  • Have a signed medication order from the doctor
  • Have written parental consent
  • Be in the original pharmacy-labeled container
  • Be brought to the school by an adult

New medication orders are required every school year.

All medications will be destroyed if not picked up by the last day of school. No student medication is kept over the summer.
