Superintendent's Message

Dear Clinton Community,

I hope this letter finds you relaxed and enjoying your summer.  I know it’s hard to believe, but the first day of school for Clinton Public Schools grades 1 through 12 is only 3 weeks away, August 26!

Also, while our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs don’t start full-time until after Labor Day, September 8, there are orientation programs leading up to the first day.

For a list of back to school information, including important dates and times, please refer to the CPS 26-27 School Year At-A-Glance Document.

We will send out additional information next week following our School Committee meeting on August 10. At that time, we should have our back to school forms and student schedules available in Infinite Campus. You can use your Parent Portal account to access these documents.

Also, please be on the lookout for updates regarding traffic patterns. Between the CMS construction and the Culvert Project on Main and Church St. it is likely that we will open the year with some adjusted drop-off and pick-up procedures. We will provide more information as we get closer to the start of the school year so that we are providing the most accurate information that we can.

Additionally, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is releasing MCAS results electronically this year through their MCAS Family Portal. You will receive login information from us later this month that will allow you to access this statewide system to view your student’s MCAS results.

One final note, given the recent advisories on screen time and the expected statewide cell phone ban, Clinton Public Schools intends to have a bell-to-bell cell phone ban this year in all of our schools. Additionally, in an effort to be more equitable and intentional with our use of technology, we will not be allowing any students to bring their own computers to school (formerly the BYOD - bring your own device program). All work will be done on a school issued device.
